virginia private investigator ce requirements

Virginia private investigators must complete 8 hours of in-service (continuing education) training every two years to renew their DCJS registration. This requirement covers job-related topics, state laws, and ethics. Investigators with a firearms endorsement must also complete an additional annual firearms in-service training. 


The continuing education (CE/in-service) requirements for Private Investigators in Virginia are regulated by the Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS).
